overcome the lie

My sweet twitter friend, Ashley Beaudin, over at The Story Project, is doing something that takes a whole lot of guts, coffee and Jesus and I am really excited for what is coming.

There are loads of lies that we as people believe.... lies that tell us we aren't good enough, our voice doesn't matter, we'll never amount to anything, no one could ever love us..... the list goes on and on. But Ashley has put on some boxing gloves and is ready to hop into the ring to give these lies a good pounding.

She's partnered with LionHart to create a campaign called Overcome the Lie.

We all have a lie that needs to be destroyed. A lie that has taken root deep into our soul and has caused fear and insecurity to grow and take over our lives.

Jesus quoted from Isaiah once and said that he is here to:

"to proclaim good news to the poor.
[The Spirit of the Lord] has sent me to
proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
too proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
Y'all, we were not made to let our lies become our friends. These lies were not created to have dinner with you and coddle you and tell you that you must stay in this prison cell.
The campaign runs from January 28th to February 3rd. On the 30th of January a Twitter party is happening at 8 p.m. You can hop online and use the hashtag #overcomethelie to share your story. I'd love it if you would hop on board and overcome the lie.
